We are all very unique. The majority of schools though operate like "one size fits all". This is a sad situation because rarely there are kids that are at the exact moment that the teacher wants them to be. A majority is either behind, or some are ahead. And that means only two things:

* students resent the subject because they are behind, and they can't catch up...

* students are bored because they are processing faster than the rest of the class and as a result, they find the subject dull

We are now in the 21st century and blessed with software like Khan Academy or Dreambox, where every kid is treated individually. He/she can move at their own pace, enjoying uncovering new concepts and challenging their knowledge on their timeline and not someone else's.
