FUELING CURIOSITY FIRE

“What does education often do? It makes a straight-cut ditch of a free, meandering brook.”

Henry David Thoreau

When we are curious, we learn. Not because we should or have to, but because we want to. Curiosity is the ultimate state to absorb knowledge. We are willing to solve the problems we do not understand just to figure out something we are curious about.

So how do you make sure my child progresses in math and other subjects since all she wants to talk about are ponies?

We ask questions. But not any questions. We ask questions about... ponies. So, your child is curious to find answers to all kinds of questions and challenges. Questions not only about ponies but math, biology, ethics, logistics, spelling, drawing and music and chess and... you get the picture. And here are some real-life examples so you could agree that it might be great to be interested in... ponies ;)

"I wonder how many ponies attended the festival last year. All I got is this bar chart. Can you figure this out for me?"

"If you were going to prepare this festival next year how would you go about it?"

"Are zebras related to ponies? Shall we invite them?"

"Can you draw and write an invitation for the pony festival?"

"What music shall we play at the grand opening? Do you want to compose it yourself to make it extra special?"

"I think it would be really fun to have a chess tournament. Can you learn chess to be a judge?"

We simply believe in Sam Harrison's words:

"CURIOSITY IS STRAIGHT FIRE FOR CREATIVITY."
