PRIMARY GUIDE

Hello,

We are a start-up founded by a parent. We are looking for a unique type of elementary education and at the same time want to give the opportunity to low-income families (especially in COVID -19 times) to have easy access to the best teacher talent available. Therefore we are looking for a truly good match. Please apply if our guide description excites you and you are looking to grow with a progressive company for a minimum of 5 years.

We are looking for a passionate teacher guide that feels comfortable with managing 16 kids online 5 days/week. We have openings for 2 candidates: 2/3 grade and 4/5 grade.

We will have a music teacher, art teacher, taekwondo teacher, and math tutor to support kids. The majority of the work kids will be doing is online. Please note though that we do not give homework to kids and expect parents to let the kids spend the rest of the day playing outdoors. The only thing we ask kids to do after school is to read every day for 30 minutes.

We want our guides to feel comfortable doing yoga, taekwondo, dance, and meditation with kids. We expect our guides to be able to lead individual student meetings, as well as lead a book club, fun writing sessions, leading debates, and Socratic discussions and providing inspiration for the semester projects. Our guides will also provide an update to parents every 3-4 weeks via email and conference call every quarter. We will have quantitative support material for your parent meetings from math and language software, but you will update parents on the overall progress and make suggestions for inspiring activities families could do together e.g. playing the game Zeus to improve addition/ subtraction, etc.).

Here are our requirements:

•  a superior academic record (undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher)

• very strong professional recommendations

• at least 2 years of full-time classroom experience

• very strong internet connection and professional home office set up

•  we run whole year-round with about 4 two week breaks / TBD

• you need to be comfortable with us recording the classes and making them available to other students

If this sounds good, then please apply. We would love to connect with you. We do read cover letters carefully and  would like to understand:

• Why do you want to teach?

• How can a guide inspire kids to be future heroes and be excited about learning?

• What are your personal interests and what you enjoy doing?

• What do you think about Montessori, Waldorf, and other school types?

• How would you handle a student that is distracted on your class video call?

• Your salary expectations?

• Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years?

Thank you for reading our post and we are looking forward to hearing from you!

To apply please send your cover letter and CV to careers@MyESchool.org
